Hello! My name is Molly Vagle and I am the new Communications Associate - Siting for Clean Grid Alliance. I am so excited to get started in this role and help advance clean energy!!
I am a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, with an emphasis on education and communication. While studying Environmental Science, I also completed Minors in Sociology and Sustainability Studies, so I understand the connection between people and renewable energy and how communications can strengthen that connection. During my time at the University, I worked at the Office of Sustainability as a Communications Assistant where I gained experience in communications, research, event planning, and social media management. My experience and coursework have led me to this position, which I feel compliments my skills and passions!
I am passionate about connecting and educating people on environmental solutions, which includes renewable energy. Educating citizens and stakeholders is the best way to advance clean energy and reap the economic and environmental benefits associated with renewables. We need a renewable energy revolution, and this starts with having educated citizens who are willing to approve and accept clean energy projects in their communities! I am excited to do this work and advance the renewable energy revolution!
I am proud to call Minnesota my home! I grew up in rural northern MN surrounded by nature and the Iron Ore Mines, which kickstarted my passion for environmental issues and clean energy initiatives. I understand the connection between economic and environmental benefits that renewable energy projects can bring to a community. Over the years, I have seen firsthand my small mining town face economic struggles and other issues, and see the need for an alternative energy system.
Outside of being passionate about the environment and the push for renewable energy, I have many hobbies and interests. I love to cook and have been experimenting with plant-based diets. I love to travel and see new places, along with traveling to see family and friends. I spend a lot of my free time outside on walks, at the park, hammocking, hiking, and reading books on the porch. I try to visit my parents on beautiful Lake Vermilion as much as I can to experience the rural lake life. Lastly, my cat Shifu takes up any remaining free time as I am his favorite person.
I can't wait to start serving you all!
