Derek Hazeltine joined CGA in June 2025 as Finance and Operations Director. In this role he will manage financial and operational functions, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and providing HR and office support.

Derek has many years of experience as an association executive director and more recent experience on the operations side in the for-profit world. Derek earned his juris doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School and his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of South Dakota.

He lives in St Louis Park, Minnesota with his partner Amy. Derek has two grown children, Duncan and Evan, and two grown stepchildren, Kat and Will. He enjoys playing tennis, golfing, visiting state and national parks, and frequently gathering with friends.
