Clean Grid Alliance Applauds Allete Acquisition Approval

ST. PAUL, MN – Clean Grid Alliance (CGA) applauds the Allete acquisition approval by the Minnesota Public Utility Commission.
"We applaud the commission's decision and their thoughtful process to ensure the acquisition was in the public interest," said Beth Soholt, Executive Director, Clean Grid Alliance. "This acquisition will provide Allete access to the capital the company needs to grow, while investing to meet increasing energy demands. It will also stabilize costs and ensure long-term stability and reliability for customers."
Soholt added, "CGA supports all efforts to implement clean energy solutions for Allete and Minnesota Power. Clean energy projects, like solar, wind and battery storage, can be brought to market quickly, are cost-competitive, and drive economic investment and job creation in communities. The collective work across the clean energy industry in the Midwest is fueling more than $450 million in economic benefits for local and state economies in 2025 and now employs hundreds of thousands of hardworking Americans."
