Clean Grid Alliance Statement on the IPA Resource Adequacy Study Report

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 16, 2025

"The Illinois Power Agency Resource Adequacy Study released today highlights the challenges faced by the Illinois energy market in the coming years. This report validates what the industry has been warning about for more than a year. Ultimately, that led to our advocating for and helping to pass the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act in the fall legislative session to ensure a consistent and affordable supply of energy for our homes and businesses across the state. Battery storage is a critical component of the solution, helping to keep costs low for consumers and the flow of energy steady to our communities. We thank Governor Pritzker and the Illinois legislature for their commitment and work to protect Illinois ratepayers. The renewable energy industry stands ready to meet the moment and help Illinois satisfy the original targets in the Clean and Equitable Jobs Act."
